Marketing Your Business 2.0 Part 2 (Podcasting)

Hello everyone. I want to say thank you to everyone who called me and wrote to me about the last article. I am glad that you find the articles helpful. In order to grow any business it is an absolute must that you understand the importance of marketing. It is also an absolute must that you understand how to market on a budget when your money is tight.

The next 2.0 marketing tip that I want to share with is called Podcasting. The word podcasting is taken from the words I-pod and broadcast. As you can see our dictionary of words is changing everyday. When you podcast you can have your own radio show. Podcasting can be very exciting and very informative. When you podcast all you need is a microphone or a telephone. You can interview guest, give out business tips, give out sports tips or just talk about something you love and broadcast it across the Internet. When you sign up for certain podcasting products you will have the ability to dial a number, have your guest dial a number record the whole conversation and broadcast it across the Internet. I know that it sounds simple and that’s because it is simple. One of the programs that I use is called Audio Acrobat. Visit the website at www.audioacrobat.com to find out more information. There is also another site called Blog Talk Radio. This site will allow you to interview your guest live and have people call into your show and ask questions.

Once you have recorded your first interview you will have the ability to take the code from the interview and embed it into your website so that people will keep coming back for more. As you can see this is another technique to drive traffic to your site, but it does something else as well. It helps you create expert status in your industry. Millions of people can be listening to share your knowledge and bringing them great interviews right on there ipod when you upload your podcast to Itunes.com. I-Tunes is just one of a hundred ways to market you podcast so that people will know when you have fresh new content.

The media is a powerful medium. Once you start podcasting you will become a member of the media. You can take that power that you will earn and use it to grow your business.

You maybe thinking what the heck is Marketing Your Business 2.0 and I have the answer that you are seeking. We all know that you can have the best business in the world, but if no one knows about this great business, then what good is it. Marketing 2.0 is a group of techniques that you can use to market your business on the internet for free. Over the next 3 issues I will be discussing what these techniques are and how you can use them to help you market your business. Because these techniques are free they are ideal for anyone who is struggling because they don’t have the money that they think they need to help them get the word out about their business.

The first technique we will be discussing this month is called blogging. You maybe saying to yourself, what is blogging. The word blog was derived from putting web and log together which now spells blog. A blog is simply a log where you can post information about what you do, answer questions or just give your opinion about something. The best way to use a blog is to make sure that your blog has a theme. My blog for instance focuses on starting and growing a business. Your blog should focus on something that is connected to your business. To set up a blog all you have to do is go to www.blogger.com and you can set up a free blog. This program will allow you to customize your blog so that it will match your company colors. Once you have set up your blog you can begin posting what ever information you like there. The good thing about blogging is that others who are looking for information that you offer can also post comments on your blog. The key to having a successful blog is to have good content and to post to your blog often. Every time you make a post to your blog it is registered in the blog search engines.

To bring more attention to your blog you can register it with blog directories. Blog directories will list your blog there, so when someone is searching on a certain topic it will pull up blogs in the directory with that specific topic. Here are a few directories where you can submit your blog.

Are You On The Right Track With Your Business

Hi everyone. I hope that you all are enjoying your summer so far. The nice weather sometimes, make it hard to work, but we must keep pushing on. I was in my home office the other day looking at my wall of goals, when I realized that I was slightly off track with my business and the goals that I had set for the business. I have a sheet on my wall called "What My Life Looks Like" This sheet talks about my future life in the present. I try to remember to read it every day, but sometimes I get caught up and forget. Any way I was reading it and I realized that it was slightly off. I had to rewrite it because my business had changed somewhat which caused the my goals to change. So my question to you is "Is Your Business On The Right Track?" If you are not sure if it is here are few things that you should.

1. Make sure you have a mission statement.
2. Make sure that you write down your goals.
3. Write out your "What My Life Looks Like" statement.

If the things that you write in these three statements does not match, then your business is not on track. If your business is not on track it will be very hard to make that business become successful, because you are not clear about what you are supposed to be doing with the business. Just remember in order to be successful in any business, you must be focused and if you don't have clarity, you will not be able to focus on what is important to your business.
